Hi Klaatu
Havent got anything to show you at present, as I am still working on the SC1
(or I will be when I return home)
When I have something to photograph other than a disassembled SC1 I will post them with pleasure.
Currently working on catching some rays.
Cheers Scudie.
ScudieParticipantInterested to see what you have planned for your Solotone adapter & how it works out.
I am currently working my way through cleaning checking lubricating and converting another Seeburg Sc1
Haven’t done one since last year as other projects take priority when the weather is nice and the day light hours are greater.
This one is going to have a Two Tone / New Wave theme to it.

ScudieParticipantHi Randy
Another super installation with Rat Pack king of cool Dino!
They sure are some big old speakers happy listening 👍
ScudieParticipantHi Rock 62
I guess it depends on the wattage and resistance of the speakers you are intending of using. Are you intending the external speaker / speakers to be of the wired type?
I seem to remember that the amp on the V1.5 could handle a pair of 8ohm speakers, so does that mean that you could use 4 x 4 ohm speakers I am unsure (and not an electrician) I guess that Fabien might be the man to ask.

ScudieParticipantHi Rock62
I guess you have several options to try once you have identified the audio control relay, if possible you could manually close the contacts of the relay & secure them so they remain closed or identify which of the conections on the relay are switched when the relay is energised remove the relay and connect the identified connections with a simple bridging wire thus negating the requirement for a relay.
Or as you say you could add the nesseccary ground or live whichever is required to operate the relay.
Good Luck

ScudieParticipantHi rock62
I have no personal experience with the 507 but after reading your posts I had a bit of a look at the 507 manual, I think it was on page 8 that it states that there would have been a wire from the Jukebox that connected to the connection strip & is to operate the audio control relay .
Perhaps this relay needs to be triggered for audio to be operational?

So you made it using some 3D software, so is the picture just an image of what you will be able to make when you receive your resin printer that you are currently waiting for?
I guess that in the right hands these 3D printers could be a very useful tool.

Will be interesting to see how the finished article turns out !
How did you make the one in the photo, is it hand made ?
Only asking as you say you are waiting for the printer to be delivered?

ScudieParticipantGood afternoon Christophe.
Sorry about the delay in my response, have been away for the weekend.
Can’t think of anything else to suggest to you re your volume adjustment problem, I guess you have tried turning off the power changing the dip switch positions then power back on?
Also I have read in a post in General Discussion started by Gilles about volume control problems, and that the crystal on the V1.5 is very sensitive and if touched by accident that this can cause issues with sound. I am unsure how this is resolved as the post is in French and my French is very poor. It may be worth you having a read through it.
ScudieParticipantHi again Christophe.
I had a thought earlier about your problem, is your V1.5 located close to the 25Vac transftransformer?
In another post it would appear that the transformer was the cause of volume control issues in another Rockola 507 http://www.wallbox2mp3.com/forums/topic/probleme-de-volume-avec-rock-ola-507/
Cheers Scudie.
ScudieParticipantGood morning Chris65
Do you have anything plugged into the mini audio jack ?
If you have try removing it , also how have you configured the dip switch ‘s from memory I think switch 2 should be set to on position for the onboard volume pot to work.
There is a bit in the manual about the dip switches.

ScudieParticipantMorning Randy
The speaker grills on mine are the ones that were glued on when I got the machine, I removed them so I could get the case stripped and painted as the chrome was extremely poor. Gave them a thorough cleaning before refitting them.
The ones on the right hand SC1 were originally black and came off of a case that was either copper or gold colour, which is the one that I did have powder coated (to my regret) the machine on the right came to me without any speaker grills so I sprayed the black ones a grey/silver as it was there preference.

ScudieParticipantThe Sc1 on the left is my kitchen one,
The right hand one I built for some friends of mine after they saw our red one.
ScudieParticipantHi Folks
Yes it was on a v1.4, I built and converted the SC1 2 or 3 years ago & had a SD card with mostly 50’s & 60’s music on, & it’s been sat in the kitchen since.
At some point last year I noticed that one of the speakers was not working so swapped the speaker for a known good unit still no sound from one speaker, plugged a pair of earphones into the mini audio jack & had sound on both channels, so I fitted a separate amplifier and wired it to the audio jack, hey presto I had sound from both speakers.
Every year before Christmas I swapp the SD and title Cards in the kitchen SC1 for loads of Christmas songs, after Christmas this year I decided to do another SD card with a different choice of music 70’s & 80’s with around 10 albums also.
Initially this new SD worked fine with no faults untill a couple of weeks ago when it started to cut out and stutter part way through a song, at this point it had been fitted and working for well over 6 months,
Also when I first inserted the suspect dodgy SD into my PC it woul allow me to access the MP3 files but would not let me copy or delete any of the files & I received a message telling me to insert an SD card into the slot.
So I am guessing that the card has failed in some way.
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantHi Klaatu
Thanks for your explanation, the transformers that you speak, have they been fitted as part of the conversion or were they part of the original 507 to provide voltage for lighting perhaps?
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantUnfortunately I am the same as Klaatu, in that I know nothing about this type of wall box or how to convert it to MP3.
In my oppinion it looks cool and ideal for your man cave, would be interested to hear how you get on with it.
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantHi All
I think if it was me I would configure the sd card to allways play random music,
I would disconnect the V1.5 from the Rockola, connect a pair of known good speakers to the v1.5 & connect & switch on the 5vdc power.
The v1.5 should play random mp3s without any other connections being made, & will be totally independent of the Rockola.
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantIn a previous post I had asked what was the meaning of the abbreviation hp (if that is what it is ) would you mind explaing what it means?
Have you tried disconnecting the remote volume control pot & using the one on the the V1.5?
Have you tried switching the type of amplifier as suggested by Klattu?
Have you tried a pair of ear phones connected to the mini audio jack?
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantHi Randy
To be honest I don’t know why that the resistor is required, I just remember reading it in the paperwork for the CD adapter iPod stuff.
Infact on the very first SC1 that I bought, I purchased a resistor and connected it as described only to then realise the the complete APU 10 unit and its wiring / plug was missing. So removed the resistor as it was completely unnecessary.
I remember feeling rather stupid when I realised it was missing.
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantHi I have tried to follow this post but I am struggling to understand even when I translate to English.
Are the 4 red wires that are shown connected to the speaker terminals of the V1.5 connected directly to the speaker positive & negative terminals?
Are any of the original Rockola speaker wiring also connected to any of the speaker terminals?
what is the meaning of the abbreviation Hp ?
Sorry for all the questions but trying to understand.
Cheers Scudie
