Hi again
I have not noticed any noticeable level of distortion of sound quality, in any of the volume switch position settings, with the three buttons level ie non pressed in, I get a very low volume level, with the low button depressed the volume rises ,with med button depressed a little louder, and the highest volume achieved with the high button pressed. The rise in volume for each stage is quite subtle.
I was wondering if you had cleaned the electrical contact surfaces of the volume switch components while you were modifying the resistor section? Or do you have a damaged speaker cone?

ScudieParticipantHi Steve
Yes finger crossed that they come up with a cure for the humming noise.
A good friend of mine has had a wb2mp3 card of mine on his scope and can see that there is interference on the left audio Chanel, but without details of the circuit he has struggled to get any further, I have forwarded Andrews findings to Fabian at Retroelectronik and notified Fabien that Andrew is willing to help& should he wish to either speek to Andrew or contact hi m by email to let me know.
I have posted a reply concerning your volume switch question. I am not 100% sure if it will help any.

ScudieParticipantHello Steve
Yes the distortion that you mention is a known problem, there are several posts on the forum that talk of a humming / buzzing from the left speaker, some of the posts are in English and others if French.
I have been told that Fabien is currently looking into this issue with a view to eradicating it.
I am not 100% sure what you mean by How I have the speaker + connected, all I can tell you is that both audio output positives from the wb2mp3 board connect to the large terminal block using the connections marked YEL & GRN
Hope this helps Scudie
,
ScudieParticipantYes if you look elsewhere on the forum there a posts concerning this noise which seems to affect the left speaker predominately. Fabien is currently looking into this problem.
ScudieParticipantThanks Klaatu
Because of the shape of the front &rear outer cases the unit does not lend itself to standing on a table or counter top. So I fabricated a stand for it.
ScudieParticipantMorning Sooner
In my experience pressing the reject button should just cancel the current song.
Songs should play in the order that they were selected.
Realy not sure how many selections can be made at one time. Mine regularly plays 4 or 5 selections without any errors but does occasionally either miss a track ie plays 3 when 4 were selected or replaces one of the selected tracks with a random track.
Yes the built in speakers will still work when the auxiliary socket is used. If a Bluetooth transmitter is plugged in there is a delay between the Bluetooth speaker and the built in ones which causes a echo effect. I fit a switch in the speaker circuit so I can cut the inbuilt speakers if I wish.
ScudieParticipantAt the point of the previous photo I was able test the unit.
I found that the first 30 or so selections were ok but things went wrong somewhere in the D selections. After trying various things I removed the selection button unit & stripped / tested all the contacts & wiring. I eventually found a faulty wire, replaced the section at fault this rectified the fault.
ScudieParticipantRather than having to drill holes in the rear section of the case, I was able to fit the wb2mp3 card to the coin mechanism mounting plate, & was able to fix a plate that I had fabricated to the mounting points that are there for credit unit to mount the 25vac transformer to.
ScudieParticipantHello Sooner
I guess you could bypass the volume control relay, I have normally cleaned the contacts of the relay then placed a small tie wrap around it so that the contacts are held in the closed position & disconnected the power to stop the relay energising so that it can’t overheat.
ScudieParticipantSome of the internal components are now refitted in this photo, l had figured that the wb2mp3 would fit where the coin mechanism originally fitted & that I could remove the credit unit freeing up space for a 25 Vac transformer.
ScudieParticipantThis was project I recently completed.
Apart from the front glass being broken & few blown lamps it was complete, but very dirty / sticky inside. The unit itself breaks down into separate components quite simply, at the point the above photo was taken I was about to commence rebuilding the rear section it had been thoroughly cleaned & resprayed black rather than the original brown.
ScudieParticipantHad a thought about bulbs, all of the Seeburg manuals that I have, have a parts list which gives the ratings of all the bulbs. If you don’t have a manual I believe that there is a pdf of a Seeburg dec manual under the support section of the website.

ScudieParticipantGood morning
I have connected to Bluetooth speakers using a Bluetooth transmitter, I fit an extension cable into the jack plug socket on the board. Then the transmitter can be plugged into the extension with the cover closed. If you have the DEC’s speakers wired to the wb2mp3 board you will get an echo effect because of a slight delay on the Bluetooth.
Regarding bulbs the bulbs I do not have a DEC unit. Sometimes the bulbs have information stamped on the bayonet section ie voltage & wattage ratings, but some have a gec # which you can sometimes google the code and get voltage wattage info.
My SC1 use’s number 19 bulbs which are capless available from jukebox revival in Holland there website lists lots of bulbs. It’s worth a look.

ScudieParticipantWell done . I am very pleased that it has been sorted out. I guess you are very experienced with computers.
How do I put a photo on my posts instead of the standard head and shoulders silhouette?
ScudieParticipantYou can also add an external reject button by using a (make on press) momentary switch and connecting the two wires from the switch terminals to the relevant terminal block on the board. Doing this you can cancel a selection when the front cover is in place .
I if possible fit the switch under the coin reject button so the switch is actuated by the action of the coin reject mechanism.
Most voltmeter’s have both an AC & DC range so it’s important to have the voltmeter set correctly ie AC with a 20 volt limit.

ScudieParticipantYes let’s hope so, just noticed that you have become a moderator on the forum.
What does that involve ? How did you become a moderator? Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantHi all
Glad to see that the forum has been cleared of the unwanted posts (spam) thanks to Gaelle & Fabien’s efforts. Fingers crossed this can be maintained. Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantI have only ever used the software provided to format and build playlist on the SD card.
If irus18352 system initially worked with an SD card done using the software & if subsequent sd cards have been done in the same way but are not recognised by his wb2mp3 card, providing he has no bad connections with his wiring & his power supply 5v dc is providing adequate power to the board, I would think that it could be his wb2mp3 card that is at fault. Perhaps Fabien could suggest a way of diagnosing this ?

ScudieParticipantHi Klattu
this spam thing is certainly a pain, I hope that Fabbien and or Gaëlle will eventually be able to block this non relevant content. Rather than removing it as it occurs as they have been doing at present.
I am afraid I do not use Facebook or any of the other social media type services, & think it better for any one who is interested that we should try to carry on with the forum.

ScudieParticipantHi Ian just read your post concerning the error light. Found this in the support section which I have copied and pasted below.
Here is how to interpret this signal: – 2 flashes loop: The wallbox2mp3 fails to initialize the SD card; Make sure you insert a Secure Digital card in the slot provided for this purpose; If so, then remove and reinsert it. The wallbox2mp3 is compatible with most SD cards, regardless of memory size, brand, etc … It can happen in very rare cases that an sd card may be incompatible with our system; it would be a card that does not accept connections Serial Protocol Interface (SPI). If the problem persists, try to transfer the data to another SD card.
Fairly sure I read somewhere to always turn off the power before removing or inserting an Sd. I think if it was me I would try the removing and reinserting your original sd card if this has no effect I would do another sd card and try that.
Good luck.
