I have also been replacing the standard 13 amp fuse in the the 3 pin uk plug with a 3amp.
As to in front or behind the transformer I thought that if the fuse was placed in the circuit between the power source and the item it is powering ie motor, lamps etc that this would be the correct place for it.
I believe that in the two descriptions of how to integrate the emulator into wallbox’s on this site they placed the fuse inbetwee the two windings of the terroidal transformer.
I am not an electrician and will stand corrected if I am doing it wrong.Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantGood evening Steve
Thanks for the information, I took a look at the video, I am hoping to be able to have some time this weekend to have a play with it.
I think that the first step, I will have to clean up the edges of the Perspex sheeting as when it is cut or sanded it takes on a dull white sort of colour. And for the light to show it will have to be polished to make it clear again. Once I am 100% happy with the shape of the Perspex layers I will give them a polish, to see how they respond.
Then I will try some LED lighting to see how it responds, it will have to be a trial & error approach.
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantIdeally I would have liked to have a lamp between each disc so that the lighting would be uniform this could prove tricky as used pieces of clear Perspex to space out the records.
Might try a strip of led’s on the outside rather than indervidual ones from inside the box where locating them would be much more restricted.

ScudieParticipantGood luck in finding one, I can’t say I have ever seen one before, would it be a 1940’s?
Perhaps while you are messaging them about the compatibility you could ask if they are any closer to eradicating the background noise?

ScudieParticipantHi Klaatu
As you say it’s on the list, so in theory it should be compatible,
I notice that they are selling through eBay again it may be a idea to message them through the contact the seller option? In my opinion you should have a better chance of a response this way.
Is the AMI 40 your’s?
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantI am still considering fitting some led’s between the layers of records, might try a few different colours to see if I like the effect.
ScudieParticipantHave now had a bit of time to decide what to do with the box, this is what I have done.
The top record in the last photo is yet to be cut to size.
ScudieParticipantNow that I have the box working , I can work on the idea I had to disguise it.
I had never intended for it to look just like a box ! I searched the Internet for ideas but nothing really fitted the bill. I had seen a video where the wallbox is sat on a book shelf and the conversion components hidden inside of a hollowed out book. Which would be great if it was to go on a bookshelf , But I wanted several things from it.
My idea for it was to be portable ie for it to be easily moved from room to room as desired. I wanted to hide away the box, so it wasn’t immediately obvious to what it’s purpose was or what it contained.
I wanted to sit the wallbox on top of it & I wanted it to have the appearance of something that was somehow related to the fifties / jukeboxes / music/ diners.
ScudieParticipantHi Klaatu
I am fairly sure that Fabien had told me that his partner had left so that he could concentrate on repairing both Jukebox’s and Wallbox’s which were his first love.
He also told me that the problem with the optocoupler had only happened since moving the production of the wb2mp3 emulators out to China.
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantGood morning Steve
I had assumed that the video was done by either Fabien or his ex partner.
Have you seen that there is a couple of photos of wb2mp3 being built at the bottom of the News section on here scroll down to the end past the photos of Wallbox’s
one of the photos shows a pick & place machine the other a cnc making covers.
Cheers Paul
ScudieParticipantMy Pal Andy who has taken a look at the audio circuitry of the emulator said something similar in his email can’t remember exactly what it was that he said.
If I still have his email I could forward to you if you are interested in reading his comments /recommendations ? If I had your email address.
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantGood to here you have no buzzing sound , I think we all agree that certain features of the system could and should be improved.
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantHi Steve
Have you read this post from the beginning?
My 5210 & 5250 both works fine on 50hz when connected to either the W 2100 or I pod adapter. Apart from the fact that the title page’s on the 5250 are wrong for the 2100.
With the sd configured for any of the 200 select wurlitzers it plays D1 when A1 is pressed, all subsequent selections are exactly 30 tracks out of sync , until you press T1 onwards it plays nothing at all for any of the T U or V selections.
My theory is that as it started exactly 30 tracks out of sync there’s nothing left for the last 30 selections.
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantBonjour
De quel modèle avez-vous wurlitzer? Avez-vous aussi les 30 premières sélections missin? Avez-vous été capable de résoudre le problème?
A bientôt Scudie- This reply was modified 5 years, 5 months ago by Scudie.
ScudieParticipantHow do they behave when the reject button is pressed?
Have you tried them with the random music configured on the SD card?
With the volume set at a normal level do you hear a buzzing through the speakers in between tracks being played ?
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantThe email I received from Gaëlle said that so far Fabien had made no modifications to the audio, that he was struggling to do all of his jobs, etc etc.
But was hoping to be able to find time while he has the help from the two students.
We can all live in hope with my digits crossed.
when you have the volum set at a normal level do you get a buzzing / hum between tracks?
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantAs to the transformer the one in the wooden box was given to me, the terroidal ones I have bought because of there compact dimensions.
ScudieParticipantThe speakers that are in the wooden box were originally in a couple of Sony mini HiFi speakers and had the bass ports with tubes(didn’t know what they were called or for). I just fitted the tubes as I figured Sony knows more about speakers than me.
As the plastic box , speakers are smaller I made the bass ports smaller there was no science to it just made the holes that size as I thought I had some plastic pipe / tube I could glue in to them.
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantHad an email from Gaëlle yesterday 26th of May apologising for the delay in responding, explaining that Fabien has two students joining him this coming week and that he hopes to be working with them on the wb2mp3 to try and find the trouble.
All my fingers are crossed.
