A few friends of mine have audio systems in there homes such as Sonos , Panasonic which I am told link the base unit to the satellite speakers using wifi?
Could this be an option for the forthcoming model?
ScudieParticipantHi Sooner
I remember Andy saying something similar to that about the pre amp & lineout.
Do you still get the background hum when using these amps?
So now you have them working what wallbox are you going to do next ? Anything in mind?
Am guessing you should have plenty to choose from over there. I keep looking at Rockola’s as so far I have not had one but they demand some high prices over here, so may have to stick with the Seeburgs.

ScudieParticipantHi Klaatu
I am not saying that I don’t like, as I said it’s pretty.
I hope the new unit works as well as that looks!

ScudieParticipantI guess the picture of the cover looks pretty, but as most of us fit the wb2mp3 inside a wallbox or inside of a separate speaker box no one will ever see it !
So what is the point?
ScudieParticipantCouple of photos with led’s in place
ScudieParticipantHi Klaatu
If you would like to read about the wb2mp3 I could email you some infomation
email address?

ScudieParticipantFor what it’s worth in my humble opinion, I think that all that is required of this forthcoming new version of the wb2mp3, is for it to perform without the faults that the existing unit obviously has.
I have had a cd adapter IPod wallbox unit for several years & also the wb2mp3 emulator.
The wb2mp3 emulator does have a couple of advantages over the iPod system ie a built in amp & the option of a remote volume pot.
But the IPod system always plays the selected tracks in the order they were selected without any errors, even when multiple tracks are selected in quick succession.
If configured for random selections It will play a random track after the desired amount of time, it does this without without causing issues with tracks that have been manually selected.
I currently do not use the random selection option on the wb2mp3 as it appears to have adverse affects on the functionality of the unit.
The IPod system plays the selected music with no audio noise / back ground buzzing at any desired volume.
When the cancel button is pressed it will only ever cancell the currently playing track, I have had several wb2mp3 units that cancell all selected tracks with one press of the cancell button.
If this new wb2mp3 unit was to perform equal to the standards set by the iPod unit I would be very happy.
In fact in my opinion if the current wb2mp3 unit had performed reliably to the same standards as the IPod system there would not have been any need to develope a
“New Version”& absolutely see no need to complicate things with Bluetooth or phone apps.
I would much rather that they spent there time getting the fundamentals of the unit 100% correct.

ScudieParticipantI have given it a bit of thought & have decided that the wise thing to do is stick to what I know, as I am unaware if any of the the DEC’s are in operational order.
I am not either conversant with them or a electronics engineer.
And that they are not the prettiest of things to start with.
Also the DEC emulator is likely to suffer from the same idiosyncrasies as the normal wb2mp3 emulator.

ScudieParticipantBonsoir Gaëlle
The idea of being to control a selection with a phone a bit like a remote control, I guess being able to adjust volume would be a useful feature & maybe being able to have the current playing track details could be cool.
But personally I think the making of selections should be made by physically pressing the buttons on the wallbox, as that is what they were built for.
If I want to play music using the phone there are already plenty of ways to do this.

ScudieParticipantGood evening Klaatu.
Perhaps they could offer the lcd screen as an optional extra, rather than it being required & coming in the kit ?
I guess you must have been unlucky because as far as I can remember the ones I have purchased have always had a nut on the remote volume potentiometer.
Talking of the volume pot maybe a longer cable on it wouldn’t be a bad idea?
ScudieParticipantYes perspex is used to space out the records. I did try it with just records stacked but I didn’t think it looked right, with the spacers in place it’s more obvious that they are records and I wanted to leave gaps at the font because of the speakers. Plus it looks a little like records stacked in a Jukebox, before starting to glue it all together I polished the edge of one segment it didn’t give any advantage regarding light transmitted when compared to a unpolished one,.

ScudieParticipantThe led’s that I ordered have arrived.I hope that today I can have a go at assembling the lighting that I have planned in my head, fingers crossed that the end result is worth the extra work.

ScudieParticipantHi 3 amp in the plug and 1 amp betweenI the transformer and the wallbox blew the 1 amp as the motor started. 3 amp in both has worked fine for me.

ScudieParticipantI allready tried a 1 amp it’s ok if you want it for decorative purposes , but blew as soon as the motor began to run. Had look through a box of fuses I didn’t have a 2 amp so 3 amp was used.

ScudieParticipantThe Perspex that I used was flat sheet cut to shape, flat side to the box, curved edge was cut then sanded smooth, so no bending involved.
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantThat sounds to me that at you might be considering fitting a second fuse after the transformer?
I use one of the blade type automotive fuses, pushed into a couple of insulated female spade connectors.
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantI was fitting & testing out a credit switch while it was live to see how many credits it would register, and momentarily pressed the switch by mistake while one wire was touching ground & that was it game over. Went to change the fuse and realised my error. The 3amp in the plug was fine.
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantJust as a trial I have just tried my system with a 1 amp fuse inserted, which as expected blew as soon as a selection had been made.
Hopefully the 3 amp fuse in the 25vac circuit should be low enough to protect the system from any further problems.
And the 3 amp in the wall plug to protect any one using it.

Welcome to the forum, not sure how the flashing credit lights have been achieved.
It seems a bit strange that there is only one selection for each of the title strips as there should be two for each of the 80 strips.
There are some electronics guys out there building there own units using Rapberry pie technology I guess it could be one of those.
Cheers Scudie
ScudieParticipantGood evening or Bonsoir Romain.
Its good to know that someone is taking the time to read and answer the comments / questions that have been posted on the forum.
I look forward to the day when the wb2mp3 performs as reliably as other units that are available & without the dreaded background noise! Which for me is pain in the derrière!
Has Fabien or Gaëlle shown you the email that I forwarded from a friend of mine, Andrew had been looking into the problem with the audio side of the wb2mp3? & had made some suggestions.
Will you be also answering email queries?
Kind Regards Scudie
