    Hi Bobwiley

Good to hear that you have made progress, had a bit of a look at the manual looks like the motor gets its ground through contact E of the credit cancel switch.

I can’t believe how rusty I am in the respect of the 3wA, I will try to find an hour to grab my 3wa and get it connected so I can refresh myself on its workings.

    Hi Bobwiley

Just have to ask why a 64gb card? I have never used anything bigger than a 8gb & only then because it was free. For most installations I have used 4gb and occasionally 2.

I have Windows 10 on my PC and when I configure a card  I click on the box in the wb2mp3 software that says format and build sd card and have not had any issues with the unit not being able to read the card.

    Good Evening Bobwiley

just had chance to look at & read again your queries from earlier today, my time was a little limited earlier!

As far as I have seen wallbox’s that don’t work  are normally down to the fact that someone has either removed something possibly  to repair another box. Or something is damaged because of careless handling while it has been removed from its location poor storage or shipping.  The electromechanical type of wallbox’s are normally very robustly built and I have only had one instance where I have had to buy a replacement component because I could not figure a way of repairing it.

I certainly would not start buying any replacement parts untill it has been established  that your machine does indeed require them.

In my oppinion the most complicated part of my 3wa which from memory is a V3WAD I think , is the credit unit which on mine is  unplugable but apparently on some versions of the 3wa is hard wired.

The wb2mp3 unit should start to play the chosen selection within a couple of seconds of the wiper arm returning to either the rest/home position or if further credits have been established the credit position.

The wb2mp3 recieves a train of ground/ earth pulses as the wiper arm passes over the contacts on the circular board, with the wb2mp3 there is no requirement to have a stepper connected,  the stepper would have originally been inside the jukebox and would have converted the pulse sent by the wallbox into a selection for the tormat memory unit.

There is certainly led’s mounted to the wb2mp3 board, in the manual it describes how one of them can be used to diagnose certain faults.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Bobwiley

What model 3wa have you got ?

Do you have a manual for it? If not there is one in the support section on this site.

I think if it was me I would start by looking at why the wiper arm starts &  continues to turn without making a selection, when you cancell the credit does the arm stop in the home, non credit position ?

when a credit is established the motor should move the wiper arm to the credit position and then stop, there are two motor start switches  one is triggered by the letter buttons & the other by Numbers  check that both of these switches are open when the wiper arm is in the credit position ie with the power off manually advance wiper arm until the mechanism lever drops over the first step on the cam. Check that the arm is in its correct position.

I can’t remember if I have ever had my 3wa connected to a emulator, I am sure it worked ok when connected to an iPod .

I did have similar problems with a Wurlitzer 5250 where that played selection 30 when A1 was pressed, I was sure that the 5250 was good as it had been connected to an iPod with no issues, I configured a card for a Rockola 1555? And then altered the page numbering order to suit.

As you said I hope they manage to iron out these glitches on the new card before releasing it.

    Hi Folks

Have only just read this topic did have a look at a 3wa  that I have and my title pages are numbered as A1 B1   C1 D1  E1 F1 etc through to U1 & V1

I would suggest that if when A1 is selected that B2 is played that it’s actually 21 selections out of sync! Do you have an selections on  A to V   Zero  ? because the first 21 selections have been skipped you would assume there would be no selections left for the last 20 ?

    Good evening Klaatu

Have just had my PC fired up and had a look at the labels , then remembered your post about modifying selection labels

pat what point do you open the files ? Is this befor or after I have opened the program? Once I have identified a png file how do I modify the file?

Ok so it’s now November  & being in the north of England it’s fairly cold and wet most of the time, so getting the chance to get anything done outside is very slim.

So I have had a couple of evenings this week when I have had chance to take a look at  the WQ200, logics seamed to suggest as the selections had been OK up to 160  & because the unit  selection buttons had functioned  correctly up to that point, it occurred to me that the fault probably lay with the switches that are triggered by the movement of the pages. Once these had been removed cleaned refitted and adjusted the unit should have and would have played correctly, unfortunately I hadn’t noticed tha two of the wires from the page switches had not returned to there correct position & when a selection was made part of the credit unit caught onto the wires so as the credit unit spun the wires were pulled off the switch. Once the wires had been untangled from the credit unit and soldered back onto the switch, making sure they were now tucked away from the credit unit, I tested it & all is selecting as it should.

Just got to refit the mech back into the case now & test again.

    Hi Sooner

This is only a guess but as he said that the front material was from a radio,  a bit like me just using what he’s got to hand.

I think they look great & think they look really cool, I had a look last night they are available in all sorts of colours and diner themed.👍

I had not seen it done before, I thought it clever and in keeping with the theme.

I may give them a try one day, although I have still got to get round to sorting the AMI WQ 200, & my home made drive in speakers,  plus I have another SC1 on the bench testing out the led’s.  Still not found a cover for it, any one got a complete spare cover they don’t require?

    Good evening Klaatu

Thats good to know so if I wish to change the colour of the labels I am not restricted to the colours / designs that are available in the software ?

I didn’t know that ! When and how do I change the image file?

Have had the box with the led’s powered up for 3 to 4 hours every evening this week and for at least 7hours today, so far there is no flashing or failure of the lamps.

Cool idea using the napkin dispensers for speakers, what speakers did you put inside them?

Are the speaker grills cloth or metal?

Hi not had a  Rockolla wallbox myself but from looking at the manual, I guess you could achieve free play two ways.

1 connect a momentary switch to the 25cent coin switch wies one press would probably give you 3or four credits / plays.

2 after establishing a credit disable the credit removal solenoid / mech this way it should stay in credit indefinitely.

It’s good to hear that progress is being made, I see you say that there will be an lcd screen with the new card, would this be optional to fit or will it be a requirement for the card to function?

    Thanks Scudie

    Great idea

I guess as the wb2mp3 allready has a random feature albeit only a single track played  it should be possible.

Perhaps this could be a feature the could be included on the replacement that is in development.
